Welsh Open Championships 2008 - Results

ManchesterTKD would like to congratulate Felix Lopez IV Degree (Assistant Instructor) and Anthony Thomas III Degree on their success at the 2008 Welsh Open Championships at the UWIC, Cardiff.

Felix came away with three Gold medals. The medals were won in Black belt Divisions IV Degree Pattern, +85Kgs Sparring and the Power Test.

Anthony also came away with a three medal success in the form of two Silver medals and one Bronze medal. The Silver medals were won in the Black belt Divisions -85Kgs Sparring and the Power Test, with the Bronze medal coming in the III Degree Patterns.

The next competition is the UK Open Championships in Stoke-on-Trent on the 1st November. Information can be found soon on the UKTA website competitions page.

Chief Instructor Mr W.P. Rose V Degree would like to encourage all students to attend this competition as it is the closest competition to our school making it the easiest for us all to attend!

Farewell wishes

Instructors, Black belts and Colour belt students would like to wish Dean Taylor I Degree Black belt a safe journey on his emigration to Sydney, Australia later this month.

Dean worked very hard to achieve his Ist Degree under the instruction of Mr W.P. Rose V Degree having been an original student at Blackburn TKD School. Dean was one of the only students on the day undertaking his Ist degree under First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha IX Degree to break the Brick which is a requirement not many students ever complete.

Dean we hope that you will attend a Tae Kwon-Do School in Sydney and keep up your training. We also hope that you will use the website to keep up with all the latest news of the School.

School Holiday Closure

Manchestertkd School will be closed from the Tuesday the 5th of August until the Tuesday the 19th of August.

Tuesday the 19th of August training will resume as normal at 1830 hrs till 1930 hrs.

Welsh UKTA Open Championships

The next UKTA calender championships is the Welsh Open which will be held in Cardiff at the UWIC centre on the Saturday the 4th of October 2008.

See the UKTA website for details with regards to the championships. Entry forms are also available for down load.

Please hand the completed form to Mr WP. Rose V Degree (chief Instructor) in plenty of time before the closing date to avoid disappointment.
