UK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007

ManchesterTKD have once again had a fantastic Championships with an amazing medal haul.

The championships was held on Saturday the 24th of November at the UWIC Stadium, Cardiff,Wales.

The school achieved its best ever table placing reaching 3rd over all, considering we are possibly one of the smallest schools in the UKTA this is a true reflection of the quality of students training.

Colour Belt Master Seminar & Grading News

The Northern England Area Colour Belt Seminar & Grading will be hosted by Boltontkd at the Excel Centre in Bolton on Sunday the 18th of November.

The attending Master will be Master T. Helstrip VII Degree. Master Helstrip has trained with many Masters and Grand Master throughout the world he has practiced the art of Tae Kwon-Do many times with our late founder General Choi Hong Hi.

Attendees of the Seminar & Grading should be at the Excel Centre for 1030hrs for an 1100hrs start.

ITF England President Attends ManchesterTKD School

The current ITF England President Master G. Miller VII Degree Head Umpire UKTA , AETF Umpire & Ex-GB Coach attended ManchesterTKD School on the 25th of October for a North-West Area workshop 'Introduction to Competition'.

Schools in attendance where ManchesterTKD, HuddersfieldTKD, WirralTKD, DerbyTKD & SunnybankTKD.

The workshop ran by Master Miller for two hours covered pattern & sparring with special attention to what an umpire is looking for.

Master Miller covered the technical aspects of pattern i.e the generation of sign wave, speed & power. During sparring there was discussion over tactics & how to use the opponent to your advantage, the current scoring system and target area was also focused upon.
